This week's postseason excitement didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. Among the games was a one-point thriller between Skyline and Pine Creek.
Can't Touch This
Valor Christian got a 34 - 7 win over ThunderRidge last week, and a key reason for the win was freshman Gavin Sawchuk. Sawchuk earned five touchdowns and 113 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Sawchuk among the top power-ranked players for the week.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Skyline this week as the team hoisted itself up ten places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It won an extremely close contest against Pine Creek with a final score of 21 - 20. One of the main ringleaders for Skyline was senior Jeremy Hollingsworth, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Cherry Creek (3rd in the power rankings) and Columbine (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so check back on MaxPreps to find out which team fails to repeat its success.
