Basketball Game Preview: Carvers Bay Bears vs. Marion Swamp Foxes

The Carvers Bay Bears will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Marion Swamp Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Carvers Bay will be strutting in after a victory while Marion will be coming in after a loss.

Carvers Bay's tournament run continued when they took on Conway on Saturday. Carvers Bay wrapped up 2024 with a 46-28 win over Conway. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Tigers are ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marion ended up a good deal behind Loris on Saturday and lost 54-40.

Carvers Bay is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Carvers Bay was able to grind out a solid victory over Marion in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 35-25. Does Carvers Bay have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
