Recap: Timpson Bears vs. Joaquin Rams
The Timpson Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 69-0 victory over Joaquin. The result was nothing new for Timpson, who have now won six contests by 37 points or more so far this season.
Terry Bussey had a dynamite game for Timpson, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 210 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Bussey's longest rush was for an incredible 99 yards. Jj Garner was another key contributor, rushing for 102 yards and three touchdowns.
Timpson's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Joaquin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Timpson will head out on the road to face off against Shelbyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Timpson is ranked 93rd). As for Joaquin, they will be playing at home against West Sabine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
