Softball Recap: Juniata Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Juniata Valley and DuBois Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Juniata Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by just one run.

Kassidy Watson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Riley Mease, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Juniata Valley now has a losing record of 10-11-1. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Juniata Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for DuBois Central Catholic, they will take on Union Area on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3.1, the Scotties 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
