Newcastle came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Sulphur Bulldogs as they made off with a 14-2 win. The Racers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Newcastle got a massive performance out of Tyler Frazier, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Frazier a new career-high. Taj Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Newcastle lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Newcastle's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Sulphur, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.

Newcastle will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
