Softball Game Preview: Smithfield-Selma Spartans vs. Fike Demons

Smithfield-Selma is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Fike a four-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Smithfield-Selma Spartans will be playing at home against the Fike Demons at 6:00 p.m. Smithfield-Selma will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Smithfield-Selma came up short against Southeast Raleigh on Monday, falling 26-20.

Meanwhile, Fike lost 24-3 to South Johnston on Friday.

Fike saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Sharp, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Sharp has posted since back in April of 2024. Addison Barnes was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Fike's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Smithfield-Selma, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
