Softball Recap: Charlotte Latin's Undefeated Season over After Ten Games

After flying high against Greater Cabarrus S last Wednesday, Charlotte Latin came back down to earth. The Hawks fell just short of the Charlotte Christian Knights by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ainsley Sullivan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Talia Hawa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Charlotte Latin fell to 9-1. As for Charlotte Christian, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Charlotte Latin is set to face off against their familiar foe Cannon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Charlotte Christian will square off against rival Covenant Day at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.1, the Lions 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
