Football Game Preview: Hammond Tornadoes vs. St. Paul's Wolves + Official Tickets

Hammond is 0-10 against St. Paul since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Tornadoes will venture away from home to face off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Hammond is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Hammond will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Slidell, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tornadoes walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 7, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Hammond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zalen Bennett led the charge by rushing for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Bennett is now averaging an impressive 105.2 rushing yards per game. Reginald Monroe was another key pass catcher, picking up 91 receiving yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, St. Paul's came up short against University Lab on Friday and fell 36-25.

Hammond's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for St. Paul's, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Hammond was dealt a bruising 45-13 loss at the hands of St. Paul's in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
