Basketball Recap: West Iredell Comes Up Short

West Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the East Lincoln Mustangs and fell 64-12. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Montanari, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Montanari's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniyah Thomas, who posted ten points and seven steals.

West Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for East Lincoln, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

West Iredell will square off against Statesville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Lincoln, they will head out to face off against Foard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Lincoln's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups.
