Basketball Game Preview: Kinkaid Falcons vs. Marion Patriots

The Kinkaid Falcons and the Marion Patriots will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Kinkaid took on Second Baptist on Friday. Kinkaid took their contest with ease, bagging an 88-34 win over Second Baptist. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Eagles are ranked 685th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marion made easy work of Kankakee on Saturday and carried off a 65-44 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Kinkaid's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 47.6 points. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
