Soccer Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Horizon's game on Saturday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the El Dorado Aztecs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Aztecs are ranked 104th).

This is the second loss in a row for Horizon and nudges their season record down to 6-12. As for El Dorado, their record is now 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon will venture away from home to challenge Americas at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Americas' last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for El Dorado, they are taking a road trip to square off against Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkland will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something El Dorado surely won't give up without a fight.
