Softball Recap: Curwensville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Williamsburg

Curwensville put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Williamsburg Blue Pirates. The Golden Tide's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Addison Siple made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylah Wos, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was Addison Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Curwensville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsburg only posted an OBP of .100.

Curwensville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Williamsburg, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

As of now, neither Curwensville nor the Blue Pirates have any future games scheduled.
