Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Jonesville

Jonesville entered their tilt with Leslie on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Blackhawks. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Jonesville took Leslie into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, 15-10.

Jonesville's offense was headlined by Morgan Wood and Kylee Fowler, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Olivia Babcock and her 29 assists. Sadie Broesamle and Jayda Rathbun kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Jonesville's win bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Leslie, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Jonesville and Leslie will both be playing Manchester the next time they take the court. The Blackhawks will head out to face the Flying Dutchmen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Comets will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
