Softball Recap: Tough Loss for North Bend Central

North Bend Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Central City Bison, falling 13-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 12-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on September 28, 2024.

North Bend Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vanessa Cummings, who went 1-for-2 while logging 2 runs and 1 walk. The game marked Cummings' first with multiple runs this season.

Even though they lost, North Bend Central prevented the big hits and finished the game with no home runs against. They have not posted that many home runs against since the 22nd, when they also allowed zero.

North Bend Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central City, they are now 3-1, having gone 3-1 since their 3-game losing streak (dating back to last season) ended.

North Bend Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Centennial on the 24th. As for Central City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-1 victory against Polk County on the 25th.
