Volleyball Recap: East Ridge Starts Season with Win Against West Port

East Ridge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Port Wolf Pack on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolf Pack, too.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was East Ridge who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-27, 25-17, 24-26, 15-8.

West Port's loss came despite strong showings from Samantha Ramage and Keylimar Mejias. Ramage had 11 digs and two aces, while Mejias had 16 digs and two assists.

West Port's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

East Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Eustis on the 25th. As for West Port, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Vanguard on the 25th.
