Softball Recap: Oxford Academy Takes a Loss

Riverside Prep hit Oxford Academy with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots came up short against the Silver Knights, falling 13-4. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silver Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Xiomara Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Tiettmeyer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Oxford Academy and nudges their season record down to 18-9. As for Riverside Prep, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-9.

As of now, neither Oxford Academy nor the Silver Knights have any future games scheduled.
