Onalaska picks up 13th straight win on the road

Recap: Onalaska Hilltoppers vs. Sparta Spartans

The Onalaska Hilltoppers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Sparta on the road to the tune of 88-56. The win was familiar territory for Onalaska who now have five in a row.

Sparta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gavin Rhead, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Kayden Kaat was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, Sparta were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 16 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Onalaska pushed their record up to 15-5 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Sparta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Onalaska is on the road again on Saturday and plays Caledonia at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th. As for Sparta, they will take on Luther at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Luther has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,202 points over their last 17 contests.
