Football Recap: Belpre Takes a Loss

Belpre fell victim to Oak Glen and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Golden Bears, falling 43-0. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 702nd in Ohio, while the Golden Bears are ranked 70th in West Virginia).

Oak Glen was led to victory by Logan Murray and Maddox Bowen. Murray gained 116 total yards and three touchdowns, while Bowen threw for 173 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

This is the second loss in a row for Belpre and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Oak Glen, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Belpre wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 56-0 win against Green on the 19th. As for Oak Glen, they have also already played their next contest, a 26-0 loss against Toronto on the 19th.
