Basketball Game Preview: Laney Wildcats vs. Evans Knights

The Laney Wildcats will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Evans Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Laney is headed out to face Evans after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Wildcats claimed a resounding 64-31 win over Academy of Richmond County. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Musketeers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Evans blew past Hephzibah, posting a 66-28 win.

Laney and Evans were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but Laney came up empty-handed after a 55-54 defeat. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Knights' Chabria Tate, who dropped a double-double with 37 points and 11 rebounds.
