Softball Recap: Grimsley Comes Up Short

Grimsley couldn't beat Eastern Guilford on Tuesday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the third inning. The Whirlies lost 31-10 to the Wildcats. The Whirlies have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

McKenzie Canon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Lee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Grimsley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eastern Guilford, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coincidentally, Grimsley and Eastern Guilford will both be playing Ragsdale the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Whirlies will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
