Baseball Recap: Colin Ulrich's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bishop Kenny over Clay

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bishop Kenny can now relate to. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.

Cade Harpin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Bishop Kenny saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Ulrich, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Bishop Kenny's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Clay, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-9.

While Bishop Kenny had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
