Basketball Game Preview: Clinton River Kings vs. Central DeWitt

The Clinton River Kings will take on Central DeWitt in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinton will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Tuesday, Clinton was beaten by Pleasant Valley 76-47. While losing is never fun, the River Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Spartans are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central DeWitt). They secured a 56-50 W over Assumption on Tuesday.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Central DeWitt, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Clinton came up short against Central DeWitt in their previous meeting back in February, falling 70-64. Can Clinton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
