Basketball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Allen Park Jaguars

Carlson is 2-8 against Allen Park since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carlson Marauders will venture away from home to challenge the Allen Park Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carlson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They secured a 53-47 W over Lincoln Park. The win was all the more spectacular given the Marauders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Railsplitters are ranked 62nd).

Austin Saavedra and Trent Ison were among the main playmakers for Carlson as the former almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards and the latter posted 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matt MacBride, who earned 13 points.

Meanwhile, Allen Park didn't have too much trouble with Anderson on Thursday as they won 62-43.

Allen Park's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Carlson, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Carlson came up short against Allen Park in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 61-50. Can Carlson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
