Soccer Game Preview: La Jolla vs. Castle Park

The La Jolla Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Castle Park Trojans at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. La Jolla will be strutting in after a victory while Castle Park will be coming in after a loss.

La Jolla's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Bishop's. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but La Jolla were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Baptiste Ferton, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Castle Park fell victim to Crawford and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts.

Castle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for La Jolla, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1.

La Jolla was able to grind out a solid win over Castle Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
