Basketball Recap: North Decatur Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

If Southwestern wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played North Decatur, they should've done a better job of containing Madi Allen. The North Decatur Chargers claimed a resounding 67-27 victory over the Southwestern Spartans thanks in part to Allen, who went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points and four steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Ally Whitaker was another key player, putting up seven points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

When it comes to explaining why Southwestern lost on Thursday, don't look at Tanna Tatlock. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. That was a full 40.7% of Southwestern's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

North Decatur has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points per game. As for Southwestern, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

North Decatur didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-27 win against South Decatur on the 18th. As for Southwestern, they will host Herron at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
