North Hagerstown (Hagerstown, Md.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Kyle Hewlett ran for a touchdown with less than a minute remaining, bringing the team to victory over
Oakdale (Ijamsville, Md.) 22-19.
The score was knotted at seven heading into the half. The Hubs took the lead for good on a touchdown run by Hewlett in the fourth quarter.
North Hagerstown's most effective player was
Nick Karlen. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.
A 47-36 North Hagerstown victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Hagerstown school, which lost to Frederick last week, 20-14.
In a Monocacy Valley - Piedmont game next week Oakdale (1-2) takes on Linganore, and North Hagerstown (2-1) will go up against Fort Hill in a non-conference game.
