Westridge had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-11-1 to make it six. They lost 16-4 to the Polytechnic Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 back in April.

Marysa Ybarra made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Polytechnic, they now have a winning record of 9-8. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 19-1).

On Polytechnic's side, Amelia Shih was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Shih has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eila Chan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two triples. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Carthan Connolly was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
