Football Recap: St. Georges Tech Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Smyrna + How To Watch

St. Georges Tech faced Smyrna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 44-12. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Jayden Goffigan threw for 102 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Ezra Reyes was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards.

Smyrna's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Marks, who rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also threw for 233 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. Those 103 rushing yards gave Marks a new career-high. Smyrna's leading receiver Phoenix Henriquez was Marks' top target yet again, picking up 108 receiving yards and one score, while also punching in a pair of TDs on the ground.

With the loss, St. Georges Tech broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for Smyrna, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4.
