Baseball Recap: Lucas Victorious

Lucas got themselves on the board against New London on Friday, but New London never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brady Anschutz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Anschutz was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Bobby Grover was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-3. Will Whitesel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Lucas' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for New London, their record is now 0-2.

Lucas and New London will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cubs are set to take on their familiar foe Crestline at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, New London will face off against rival St. Paul at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
