Baseball Recap: Lewiston-Porter Lancers vs. Kenmore East Bulldogs
Lewiston-Porter had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it ten. They fell just short of the Kenmore East Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Lancers who fell 4-2 when the teams previously met back in May of 2023.

Brayden VanEgmond made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Lewiston-Porter's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-7 when he doesn't). Brandon Tamul also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
As for Kenmore East, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly two runs.
On Kenmore East's side, Erik Freeman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Freeman posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Freeman wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Lembke, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
