Basketball Game Recap: Del Lago Academy Firebirds vs. Fallbrook Warriors

It was a good run, but the Del Lago Academy Firebirds unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Fallbrook by a score of 62-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Del Lago Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Fallbrook is ranked 449th).

Fallbrook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samuel Carmona out in front who scored 24 points. Elliott Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Del Lago Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Fallbrook, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Del Lago Academy will head out on the road to face off against Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fallbrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Calvin Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
