Softball Recap: Freedom Gets the Win

Freedom won the last time they faced Oconto Falls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Irish walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Panthers.

Peyton Vande Loo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Vande Loo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jovie Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

The win got Freedom back to even at 1-1. As for Oconto Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Freedom will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
