Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Cactus Shadows' Seventh in Last Eight Outings + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arcadia, Cactus Shadows was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Saguaro Sabercats 3-2. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Sabercats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Cactus Shadows was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Cactus Shadows' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mateja Cousins, who had ten digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Cousins a new career-high in assists (50). Gabby Procopio was another key player, getting 27 digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Cactus Shadows was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.

Cactus Shadows has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Saguaro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
