Baseball Game Preview: Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs vs. Pine Ridge Panthers

Flagler Palm Coast is a perfect 3-0 against Pine Ridge since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bulldogs will square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Flagler Palm Coast is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Flagler Palm Coast fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against DeLand on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of DeLand by a score of 9-8.

Marion Clayton stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Flagler Palm Coast's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Flis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Pine Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat University on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Flagler Palm Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Pine Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.

Flagler Palm Coast came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
