Basketball Recap: Tori Schlatter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Paulding over Parkway

Paulding has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the Parkway Panthers. Paulding was probably out for revenge after losing 41-26 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tori Schlatter, who posted 12 points and four steals. Schlatter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Dunham, who scored seven points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Paulding's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Parkway, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paulding has already played their next game (against Hicksville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Parkway has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Coldwater.
