Basketball Recap: Yankton Comes Up Short

Yankton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 61-11 loss at the hands of the Brandon Valley Lynx. The contest marked the Bucks/Gazelles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Brandon Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alyvia Padgett led the charge by putting up 17 points and six boards. Padgett is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Gracie Salter, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Yankton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Brandon Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Yankton will venture away from home to take on Pierre T.F. Riggs at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Brandon Valley, they will host Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandon Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge.
