Baseball Game Preview: Mount Juliet Golden Bears vs. Oakland Patriots

The Mount Juliet Golden Bears will head out on the road to take on the Oakland Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Mount Juliet can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Monday. They fell just short of Blackman by a score of 3-2.

Matthew Dickey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Mount Juliet saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Griffith, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Griffith has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Oakland took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Tullahoma. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 10, 2024.

Mount Juliet was able to grind out a solid victory over Oakland in their previous matchup back in March of 2016, winning 5-0. Does Mount Juliet have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oakland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
