Volleyball Recap: West Cabarrus Falls to Northwest Cabarrus in First Game of Season + How To Watch

West Cabarrus had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans, falling 3-0. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.

West Cabarrus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ellie Nicely, who had four digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Javier, who had ten digs.

Northwest Cabarrus' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madalynn Kennedy, who had 12 aces. Another player making a difference was Piper Tetterton-Martin, who had 12 digs and two aces.

West Cabarrus has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against South Rowan on the 18th. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Mount Pleasant on the 13th.
