Volleyball Recap: West Cabarrus Falls to Northwest Cabarrus in First Game of Season

West Cabarrus had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans on Monday, falling 3-0. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.

Northwest Cabarrus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kali Kurilko out in front who had 11 assists and seven aces. Another player making a difference was Madalynn Kennedy, who had seven aces.

Looking ahead, West Cabarrus will look to defend their home court on Monday against South Rowan at 6:00 p.m. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Mount Pleasant on the 13th.
