Preview: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Central Eagles
Buford is 9-1 against the Eagles since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Buford Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Central Eagles at 6:15 p.m. Buford is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Buford took a serious blow against the Volunteers, falling 74-20. Buford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-0.
Meanwhile, Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Andrew Jackson 88-35. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Volunteers are ranked 31st).
Buford has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
Buford came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-45. Can Buford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
