Softball Recap: Jefferson Falls to Kennedy Catholic in First Game of Season

Jefferson unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Kennedy Catholic Lancers on Monday, falling 21-14. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Amariah Moore led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Lyla Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

The victory (which was Kennedy Catholic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Kennedy Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kennedy Catholic, they will welcome Bishop Blanchet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy Catholic will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
