Softball Recap: Nativity BVM Takes a Loss

Nativity BVM was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders. Even if the Green Wave couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Anna Jansson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Clark, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Nativity BVM's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nativity BVM will face off against Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Nativity BVM surely won't give up without a fight. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they will challenge Mahanoy Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
