Softball Game Preview: Fairfax Lions vs. Palisades Dolphins

The Fairfax Lions will face off against the Palisades Dolphins at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Fairfax fell victim to North Hollywood and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Palisades narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past University 7-6.

Sarah Feldman looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kharlee Sanders was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Heather Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The win got Palisades back to even at 4-4. As for Fairfax, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Fairfax's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Lions have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Palisades, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fairfax continue to outrun the ball?

Fairfax might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Palisades in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
