Coal Ridge came tearing into Saturday's match with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Delta Panthers by a score of 9-4. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly five runs.

Ben Simons made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on George Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dylan Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Coal Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Coal Ridge's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.
