Softball Game Preview: Hixson Wildcats vs. East Ridge Pioneers

The Hixson Wildcats will face off against the East Ridge Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Hixson's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while East Ridge has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Hixson might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-3 to Soddy Daisy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Hixson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brantley Bruggink, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, East Ridge came up short against Chattanooga Central on Thursday, falling 18-1. That's two games in a row now that the Pioneers have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Hixson's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for East Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Hixson took their win against East Ridge when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0. Does Hixson have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
