League recap: Reidsville extends winning streak with victory over Corinth Holders

2A Mid-State recap Nov. 7, 2012

Reidsville extended the longest winning streak in 2A Mid-State this week by beating Corinth Holders, 41-24. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Rams.

Eastern Randolph made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,445 from 7,214. The improvement was the result of 47-7 victory over Providence Grove last week.

The Wildcats' Sam Whitley and Tyrell Watt have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Whitley has thrown for 1924 yards this season, while Watt has 33 catches for 619 yards. Bartlett Yancey's Darreal Hamlett leads the league in rushing yards with 2162.

Entering into this week's contest against East Bladen, Whitley is short just 76 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
