Basketball Recap: Tonopah's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

There's no place like home for Tonopah, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lone Pine Golden Eagles 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Muckers have posted since December 20, 2024.

Lone Pine's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Fogerty, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. Fogerty is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Noah Quezada was another key player, putting up 15 points.

The win snapped Tonopah's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-4 record. As for Lone Pine, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Tonopah won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eureka at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lone Pine, they will finish 2025 at home by hosting Templeton at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th.
