Baseball Recap: Santa Fe's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Santa Fe had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Mesa Mustangs on Monday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Demons have posted since March 20th.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Jaramillo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-17. As for West Mesa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will venture away from home to take on Manzano at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Demons' pitcher better be ready for this one: the Monarchs have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for West Mesa, they will head out to square off against Rio Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
