Softball Recap: Dell Rapids Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Dell Rapids nor Sioux Falls Christian made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Quarriers fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Quarriers have suffered since June 6, 2025.

Dell Rapids saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Scherff, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Dell Rapids' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sioux Falls Christian, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

Coincidentally, Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls Christian will both be playing Tri-Valley the next time they take the field. The Quarriers will host the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Chargers will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
