Football Game Preview: Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes vs. Northern Lehigh Bulldogs

Schuylkill Haven is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Northern Lehigh is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hurricanes will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Colton Reber continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 307 yards and five TDs while picking up 17.1 yards per carry, and also catching one score. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 140 rushing yards. Schuylkill Haven also got a significant boost from Niko Castillo, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 110 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Schuylkill Haven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 486 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 239 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northern Lehigh ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 29-28 win over Palisades. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since August 23, 2024.

Schuylkill Haven's record is now 11-0. As for Northern Lehigh, their record now sits at 8-3.
